GOLD, PYRITE AND DIAMONDS EARCUFF
GOLD, PYRITE AND DIAMONDS EARCUFF
The jewels that make up ‘Fool's gold’ were created with the intention of reconsidering the idea of ornament and the dichotomy between price and value in the contemporary conception of fine jewellery, in which more importance is given to more expensive materials.
Here, on the other hand, the protagonist is a mineral whose cubic formations are exceptional and are the very centre of the composition, leaving gold in a secondary place at the service of creating bases to support it and also the diamonds that grow on its faces and vertices like small invasions, in the same way that mushrooms grow on tree trunks or mussels are naturally anchored to the rocks on which the sea water hits.
Earcuff piece made of 18k FAIRMINED yellow gold and natural cubic pyrite cut from stone by the artist with a 6 old-cut diamond cluster set in 18k white gold. Sold per unit including gold clasps. We respect the natural shape of each pyrite without modifying it, so each piece is unique and unrepeatable.

DETAILS
DETAILS
This earring is composed by 18k Fairmined gold, cubic pyrite, and old-cut diamonds.
The piece is a compositional exercise in the form of assemblage, which is unique in each jewel, working with the technique of setting stone on stone: the diamond is set in white gold on pyrite, which is then mounted on a yellow gold base.
Sold individually and can be combined with others in the collection.
We respect the natural shape of each pyrite without modifying it, which is why each piece is unique and will vary from the photograph.
KNOW MORE
KNOW MORE
"Fool’s gold" is how pyrite is known as since it can be confused with gold because of its colour and lustre. The minerals used to compose this series of rings come from the artisanal open sky mine in Navajún (La Rioja), where there are cubical pyrites that were formed during Jurassic times, contemporary to dinosaurs and considered to be the world’s most perfect pyrites.
This mineral’s name comes from the Greek root ‘pyr’ which means fire, due to its capacity to generate sparks when there’s sufficient friction. It’s probable that Neanderthals would hit pyrite with flint to make fire.
All of them have been collected by the artist herself through chipping the stone. The work is a tribute to the wonders gifted to us by nature and done so by putting the perfectly woven and cubic formations as the main protagonist, without cutting, altering, or carving their extraordinary natural shape.
CARE
CARE
GOLD
Gold jewels should only be cleaned with non-abrasive products, preferably mild soap and water, and then dried with a soft cloth.
SILVER AND BRASS
Jewels made of silver and brass remain shiny when worn often. Over time, however, exposure to moisture and air can cause tarnish, a dark coating on their surface. You can clean them with any metal polisher sold in supermarkets, rubbing gently with a soft clean cloth to prevent scratches. You can then wash them with mild soap and water.
You can also keep them in a drawstring bag of soft cloth that will preserve them from external elements.
GEMSTONES
Jewellery made of precious metals and gemstones can be washed with mild soap and water. If the back of the gemstone needs to be cleaned, you can use a soft brush to gently scrub the less accessible areas.
