PYRITE AND DIAMONDS CLUSTER GOLD RING
Pyrite is known as ‘fool’s gold’ because of its gold-like colour and lustre. The pyrites used in this collection, carved out by the artist herself, are from Navajún (La Rioja). An artisanal open-pit mine, where cubic pyrites formed in the Jurassic period and where the pyrites considered the most perfect in the world are found.
All the jewels in this series are one-of-a-kind pieces. They are handmade using pyrite as the central element with Fairmined gold that makes up the arms of the rings or the bases of the earrings, thus adapting to their original shape. The natural rose-cut diamonds are then set, varying their size and position according to each shape.
The jewelry pieces of ‘Fool’s Gold’ were created to reconsider the idea of the ornament and the dichotomy between price and value in the contemporary conception of fine jewelry, in which more importance is given to more precious materials. In this case, the centre of the composition is the mineral and its exceptional cubic formations, leaving gold in the background as it creates the bases to support it. Moreover, diamonds grow on their sides and vertices like small invasions, in the same fashion that mushrooms grow on tree trunks or mussels are naturally anchored to the rocks where the sea water hits them.

This ring is a compositive exercise as an assamblage done by moulding by hand the arm made of Fairmined 18k yellow gold which holds the pyrite firmly and differently in each piece.
Working with the technique of setting stone on stone, groups of old–cut diamonds are set on the faces and sides of the pyrites, camouflaging themselves and generating volumes and brilliance similar to those generated by the stone itself, extolling without modifying the unique beauty of this fascinating mineral.

"Fool’s gold" is how pyrite is known as since it can be confused with gold because of its colour and lustre. The minerals used to compose this series of rings come from the artisanal open sky mine in Navajún (La Rioja), where there are cubical pyrites that were formed during Jurassic times, contemporary to dinosaurs and considered to be the world’s most perfect pyrites.
This mineral’s name comes from the Greek root ‘pyr’ which means fire, due to its capacity to generate sparks when there’s sufficient friction. It’s probable that Neanderthals would hit pyrite with flint to make fire.
All of them have been collected by the artist herself through chipping the stone. The work is a tribute to the wonders gifted to us by nature and done so by putting the perfectly woven and cubic formations as the main protagonist, without cutting, altering, or carving their extraordinary natural shape.

Gold jewels should only be cleaned with non-abrasive products, preferably mild soap and water, and then dried with a soft cloth.
SILVER AND BRASS
Jewels made of silver and brass remain shiny when worn often. Over time, however, exposure to moisture and air can cause tarnish, a dark coating on their surface. You can clean them with any metal polisher sold in supermarkets, rubbing gently with a soft clean cloth to prevent scratches. You can then wash them with mild soap and water.
You can also keep them in a drawstring bag of soft cloth that will preserve them from external elements.
GEMSTONES
Jewellery made of precious metals and gemstones can be washed with mild soap and water. If the back of the gemstone needs to be cleaned, you can use a soft brush to gently scrub the less accessible areas.
